Kevin Ferrie
Kevin retired as a senior officer with the goal of helping private industry navigate the regulatory requirements associated with doing business in the United States. Kevin spent his career navigating the technical regulations of commercial shipping, and has a deep understanding of regulatory intent. He has served in many capacities associated with commercial maritime operations, including as a senior leader of the Marine Safety Center, where he led the Hull Division and Salvage and Engineering Response Team. In this capacity, he oversaw novel shipboard design, and gained an understanding of regulatory equivalencies to allow shipping technologies to advance within the bounds of current regulations.
Prior to starting Voyage Solutions, Kevin worked in private industry, managing a marine terminal for Sprague, a natural gas, oil, and materials handling company. At Sprague, Kevin learned the business side of maritime commerce, and gained a thorough understanding of what implications regulations have on the bottom line. Kevin has the experience to approach any problem from the perspective of regulator and private industry.
Kevin is an avid maritime enthusiast who feels most at home on the water. After a Coast Guard career in maritime compliance, he cut the dock lines and has been cruising the oceans with his family aboard their sailboat, Serendipity.
